Today’s the day! Stepping Stone is releasing from Bella Books and is on its way to readers everywhere. I know some of you are on pins and needles, so here’s the first sixteen pages or so, opening with an online entry from BUZZTASTIC … a secondary “character” readers will know very well before it’s all over.
And this I know for sure too: I have the best readers in the world, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Try as I might, I never could sing like Julie Andrews and I didn’t waste any time trying. My mother sewed me a costume though. I still have the carpetbag and the tea set.
The lyrics of Stepping Stone were written by the team of Booker, Stephen Andrew, Duffy and Aimee Ann. Combined with Duffy’s haunting performance, it’s the perfect example of when one kind of art inspires another.
As a good library should, a few of the books I handled were sure to offend me, but I passed them right on; they belong in the library too. Our tiny library collection was actually dwarfed in the new space. Hmmm, maybe they’ll have room for more lesbian fiction titles, then!
