An Evening of Words and Laughter

Karin Kallmaker 04/27/2011 Above Temptation, Events and Appearances

Random Trivial Things

  • Trivia – Substitute for Love’s Fascinating Math
No math whiz, Karin spent a long time studying the milestones of mathematics to create a realistic passion for Holly Markham in Substitute for Love. Her favorite fascinating fact was how measuring sound waves electronically replaced the whack of an engineer's hammer against a train wheel to test for metal fatigue. File that under "Cool stuff writers hope some day will help them win Jeopardy!"

  • A glowing young black woman with natural hair and red lips looks over her shoulder through mottled light at the Grand Canal and skyline of St. Marcos Plaza in Venice. • Warming Trend at The Lesbian Review
This is a beautiful romance, a story of two people who are so destined to be together that no matter how big the gulf between them they can find a way to overcome it.
  • Comfort and Joy at the Lesbian Review
The dialogue, particularly in conversations between Milla and Tyna, works so well, capturing the first blush of attraction.
