Karin Kallmaker 08/09/2009 Readers and Libraries

When I suggest writing reviews, the statement I hear back is “But I don’t know how to do that!” Yes, you do. You bought the book. You read the book. You have an opinion and it matters.

Thinking for a Living – and Thankful

Karin Kallmaker 07/31/2009 Awards and Reviews, Craft of Writing, Kiss That Counted

Random Trivial Things

  • Trivia – How was Substitute for Love inspired by Dick?
The inspiration for the character of Reyna Putnam in Substitute for Love came when Karin watched then candidate Cheney dance around the issues of LGBT rights as if his own daughter's life wouldn't have been improved had he cared enough to spend any of his political capital on her. Who wants to be that guy's flesh-and-blood? What is the price when your needs conflict with his plans?

Random Shiny Things

  • Reader Comments about In Every Port
I love a book where the women are strong and commanding. It was a GREAT read and I couldn't put it down.
  • Velvet in Venice – “Relationships Take Time”
This is a wonderful romance, strengthening the argument that love happens in an instant, but relationships take time. This story is highly recommended.
