The inaugural class of Alice B Medal winners, announced in 2004, included Karin Kallmaker, Peggy J. Herring, and Radclyffe. The Alice B. Award for Lifetime Achievement Award comes from a group of dedicated readers in Arizona who every year name veteran writers and debut authors as Alice B. Medal holders and Lavender Award Certificates winners respectively.
